Styles Fashion & Awards Show to be part of Shop NYC

Gen Art's Styles International Design Competition is celebrating its 11th year in 2009!

On April 30th a group of 30 editors and retail buyers convened to select the 25 finalists whose looks will be presented at the Styles 2009 Awards presentation occuring at Gen Art's Shop NYC event on Wednesday, December 2 at 7 West 34th Street.

The designer's looks will be featured in live model vignettes where judges, industry members and guests can get up close and personal.  Then in an awards presentation, six winning designers will be announced.

This year's selection committee includes editors from VOGUE, GQ, Teen Vogue, Details, Marie Claire, Refinery 29, WWD and buyers from Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Oak, La Garconne, Bird, TG-170 and more.

At the Fashion & Awards Show 25 design finalists will be shown in front of members of the fashion industry, press, and Gen Art supporters for a chance to win one of five Design Vision Awards.

Designers who have debuted at Stylesinclude Rodarte, Peter Som, Sari Gueron, Jay McCarroll, Duckie Brown and Cloak.

Awards will be presented in Womens Ready to Wear, Eveningwear,  Avant Garde, Menswear and Accessories, as well as the I Rock Inspiration Award.
