About the i.am Scholarship
will.i.am created the i.am scholarship to provide future leaders and innovators in Film & Television, Journalism, Computer Science and New Media with financial assistance for the entirety of their post-secondary education, as well as professional opportunities at Dipdive.com upon the completion of their course of study. More than just financial aid, the i.am scholarship is an investment in our future.

In 2009, will.i.am set out to give money to one deserving high school senior in need of financial assistance to go to college. With Oprah’s help, four incredible students who had already been accepted into college, were picked as finalists for the scholarship. Unexpectedly, will.i.am awarded all four students with scholarships. His dedication and commitment continue as he funds more students annually.

Our commitment for this year’s benefit is to fund at least four scholarships ($100k each) that will be awarded to exceptional students. The i.am scholarship will be awarded to students applying to Computer Technology, Film and Television, Journalism and New Media programs.
