New Garde Fashion Presentation and Party

The New Garde Show and Party presented by Plastics Make It PossibleSM

When we first arrived at Drive-In Studios on Wednesday night, we were greeted with a nice surprise: models in underwear, bouncing around to Phoenix for a little pre show photo shoot. It soon became apparent that they belonged to Sophomore—one of the four New Garde honorees—and that the underwear, photographer and voyeurism were all part of Chrissie Miller's genius strategy. This went on all night and when we finally managed to pull our eyes off the scene, we found plenty more to gawk at.

The GAR—DE, Nomia and WesFeld collections were just as stop-dead-in-your-Acne wedges beautiful as the pantsless models. Nomia had a sexy New York feel, GAR—DE had a sexy winter warrior feel and WesFeld had a sexy couture mermaid feel. Bottom line: sex was all around. If you didn't make it—or you did and you just want to relive the night over and over, link by link--here's a quick recap of some of the happenings.

People we mingled with:
Molly Sims in all of her gorgeous swimsuit model splendor, Jessica Stam, The City's Whitney Port and Roxy Olin, Project Runway's Kenley Collins and Stella Zotis and several of the scruffy bartenders.

Looks we liked:
The stiletto wearing women were certainly brave (and we really did heart Whitney Port's pair) but it was the guys and gals in weathered boots and statement hats that really had us at "There is a blizzard going on outside." Examples include WesFeld designer Wesley's awesome pair of studded boots and everything single item on this girl (She was there in the same exact ensemble. We're sorry for outing! You're just too perfect!)

"Just leaving gen art event! Such great inspiration and amazing presentations!" Whitney Port via Twitter

"At the Sophomore installation, MTV's "The City" came to film with star Whitney Port teetering in four-inch heels as she viewed the collection." The Wall Street Journal's Heard on the Runway blog

"Went to Gen Art last night, cool collections and had a wicked evening. A flurry of fashion despite the NY blizzard." If I Can Dream's twitter

"I am the one on the far left..." A twit pic from one of the WesFeld models
