NIGHT FOUR // FEATURE FILM
My Suicide
Directed by: David Lee Miller
Starring: Gabriel Sunday, David Carradine, Mariel Hemingway, Brooke Nevin, Nora Dunn, and Joe Mantegna
In this frenzied, high energy film we come to know Archie, a teenager chronicling his high school experience through the lens of a video camera. But Archie’s world of seclusion is turned on its head when he announces to his video class that his final project will be his own suicide.
Shrinks, doctors, and pill-pushers quickly descend – some hoping to save him, others trying to push him over the brink. Then there’s Sierra, the beautiful and popular classmate whose own dark secrets compel her towards Archie as he successfully exposes the realities of high school experience: sex, drugs, violence, and the intense media overload that bombards all teenagers.
"Maddening, disarming, undisciplined, incisive, solipsistic: adjectives to describe teen behavior in general and "My Suicide" in particular…its guerrilla style should catapult the pic to major cult status.” – Variety
