With nowhere else to go, Richard finds himself crashing on the couch of a couple of sexy coeds (Caplan and Miko) after speaking at their college writing class. Seeing these ambitious young women up-close and personal, he becomes secretly inspired to feature them in his next great work. They, in turn, write their own short stories, which seem to be taunts directly at him. An elaborate game of sexually charged cat and mouse ensues – but who exactly is pursuing whom?

The Signal

Friday, April 13th @ Clearview Chelsea Cinemas
Feature: "The Signal" directed by David Bruckner, Dan Bush and Jacob Gentry
Starring: Anessa Ramsey, AJ Bowen, Justin Welborn, Cheri Christian, Scott Poythress, Chadrian Mcknight, Lindsey Garrett, Matthew Stanton & Christopher Thomas
Short: "The Angel" directed by Paul Hough
Party: Myst/Retox - 511 West 28th Street
The Signal is a unique sci-fi / horror / thriller told from the perspective of three visionary directors. Chock full of the requisite gore, the film also comes stocked with the relief of tongue-in-cheek laughs and a sub-textual message about our society’s over-reliance on communication devices rather than our own senses.
We find ourselves in the city of Terminus on New Year’s Eve and chaos is this year’s resolution. All forms of communication have been jammed by an enigmatic transmission that preys on fear and desire - driving everyone in the city to murder and madness. In a place once marked by conformity, but now sent into complete anarchy, the rebellious Ben must save the woman he loves from the bedlam in the streets as well as her crazed sadistic husband. Unfortunately, the only way he can tell who to trust is by uncovering the true nature of The Signal.
Sharkwater

Saturday, April 14th @ Clearview Chelsea Cinemas
Feature: "Sharkwater" directed by Rob Stewart
Short: "Gimme Green" directed by Issac Brown and Eric Flagg
Party: Arena 135 - 135 West 41st Street
Sharkwater is a thrilling documentary that will take you into the most shark rich waters of the world, exposing the exploitation and corruption surrounding one of the world's most misunderstood sea creatures.
Filmmaker and marine biologist Rob Stewart is Jane Goodall meets Keanu Reeves. What seemingly begins as the latest Discovery Channel HD dive into the ocean quickly evolves into a high-seas, life-threatening adventure. When renegade conservationists courageously confront corrupt governments, the result is pirate boat rammings, gunboat chases, espionage and attempted murder charges.
Still often misrepresented as bloodthirsty, man-eating monsters, sharks have gone from predator to prey, and despite surviving the earth's history of mass extinctions, human greed may lead to their demise within a few short years. Visually stunning and equally moving, Sharkwater is much more than a plea to save the eco-system of the ocean, it is a window into the mutated nature of our own humanity.
Chalk

Sunday April, 15th @ Clearview Chelsea Cinemas
Feature: "Chalk" directed by Mike Akel
Starring: Chris Mass, Troy Schremmer, Shannon Haragan, & Janelle Schremmer
Short: "No Diving" directed by William Hoffman
Party: PM - 50 Gansevoort Street
In the comedic style of “The Office” or the films of Christopher Guest, Chalk is a relatable spirited portrait of life in the trenches of that most honorable and frustrating profession . . . teaching. The film delicately navigates the classrooms of a cocky, yet self-conscious, hip, young teacher who is convinced he will win “Teacher of the Year;” an awkward rookie trying to maintain control over his class; a tough-ass gym teacher looking for love; and the well-intended (and newly appointed) assistant principle who is just not cut out for the drama currently bubbling amongst her staff. Written by two former teachers, Chalk delivers an enormous dose of heart and hilarity while evoking hope for America’s most important institution.
When a Man Falls in the Forest

Monday, April 16th @ Clearview Chelsea Cinemas
Feature: "When a Man Falls in the Forest" directed by Ryan Eslinger
Starring: Timothy Hutton ("Secret Window"), Dylan Baker ("Spiderman"), Sharon Stone ("Casino"), Pruitt Taylor Vince ("Constantine"), & Stacie Bono
Short: "High Maintenance" directed by Phil Van
Party: Room Service - 35 East 21st Street
When a Man Falls in the Forest provides a glimpse into the unavoidable and desperate moments of isolation that we all experience.
Whether it’s the recluse custodian (Baker) who works the nightshift, the wife (Stone) who takes to shoplifting in lieu of the thrill that has diminished from her marriage, the husband (Hutton) who avoids his wife by working late or the friend (Vince) who is frozen in time after a tragic accident, everyone has their cross to bear. When life compels these characters to take action, their individual fates will soon be decided by the choices they make, the people they care for, and the passion that remains.
Beautiful and haunting, When a Man Falls in the Forest reminds us all that even when we are alone, we are not alone.
He Was a Quiet Man

Tuesday, April 17th @ Clearview Chelsea Cinemas
Feature: "He Was a Quiet Man" directed by Frank Cappello
Starring: Christian Slater ("True Romance"), Elisha Cuthbert ("The Girl Next Door"), William H. Macy ("Fargo"), Sascha Knopf, Jamison Jones, Michael DeLuise, Tina D'Marco, & John Gulager
Short: "The Saddest Boy in the World" directed by Jamie Travis
Party: Rebel - 251 West 30th Street
Sometimes a handicap is all in the mind...
Laboring away in his tiny cubicle, Bob Maconel (Slater) is about to erupt in the face of endless paperwork, taunts from his co-workers, and a general feeling of disconnect from the rest of the world. Just when he’s on the verge of going “postal,” he inadvertently becomes a hero by saving the life of his office crush Vanessa (Cuthbert). Subsequently, the company president (Macy) promotes Bob to work for him directly. His first task is to deliver a confidential envelope to the girl of his dreams. Vanessa begs him to end her life, but when push comes to shove he decides to pursue a romantic fantasy with her instead.
A suspenseful, quirky and at times uncomfortably comedic drama, He Was a Quiet Man explores that blissful place that people go to when their reality is falling apart.
