Mercy

Starring: Scott Caan, Wendy Glenn, Troy Garity, Erika Christensen, Alexie Gilmore, John Boyd with Dylan McDermott and James Caan
*Q & A with director Patrick Hoelck, actor Scott Cann and select other cast following the Premiere
For novelist Johnny Ryan (Caan), writing about love is the easy part, believing in love is a different story - he's not entirely sure it even exists. However, his lifestyle of seduction and bachelorhood forever change when a single critic writes a biting review of his latest book, cutting through his charming persona, straight to his arrogant core. Thrown off course, Johnny does what comes naturally, he asks the critic on a date, which leads him on a rocky path of self-discovery as he realizes that love is much more real (and perilous) than he ever imagined.
Written by and starring Scott Caan (best known from the Oceans 11 trilogy), Mercy is a thoughtful drama… a puzzle of love’s idiosyncrasies. Caan’s insightful writing comes across deeply personal and relatable. Scott’s own father James Caan ("The Godfather", NBC's "Los Vegas") makes a touching appearance.
Other castmates include Erika Christensen (best known for her role in "Traffic" and tv's "Six Degrees"), Troy Garity (the "Barbershop" films), Alexie Gilmore ("Definitely, Maybe" and tv's "New Amsterdam") and of course, Dylan McDermott of "The Practice".
