Gen Art Hosts 3 Days of Events & Lounge Action

Gen Art’s most ambitious slate of programming to date for Park City was a great success. Our VIP Daytime Lounge hosted (and warmed up) guests for 17 hours over the first weekend of the Festival, and the fun times continued at our four additional high profile events.

During the daytime, guests took a break from the madness of Main Street to chill out, grab a complimentary drink (Patron, Stella Artois or Fiji water, depending on the mood) and network like there was no tomorrow. Shoulders were rubbed and stories were shared with indie film directors, New York and L.A. night timers, Lisa Edelstein of "House" fame, funny man Tom Arnold, Cory Kennedy, and for those who miss the original "92010", Ian Ziering.

After all the rubbing and sharing, guests took advantage of the LifeStyles condom hand outs from Miss Universe 2008, got their eyebrows done by Anastasia of Beverly Hills and utilized the free Wi-Fi. The Room Live, along with the unpredictable game, Quelf, created a “pop up” studio within The Gen Art Lounge. The Room Live offers filmmakers and producers the opportunity to get themselves and their cast and crew’s promotional message in front of cameras for massive web distribution. The partnership between the game Quelf and The Room Live brought a new element of fun from the game’s elements to enhance what is usually a “typical” interview format. Guests like Omar Miller of "CSI Miami", James Kyson Lee of "Heroes", and famed director Rodrigo Garcia all stopped by to provide their fans intimate access into their unedited interviews.

Segments filmed at The Room Live at The Gen Art Lounge are available for viewing on www.theroomlive.com.

PAST GEN ART PARK CITY UNDERTAKINGS:
Over the past 11 years, Gen Art has been responsible for a variety of notable events, including the MySpace / Gen Art party which featured a private performance by The Beastie Boys before 1,000 guests at the Legacy Sky Lodge. Guests were also treated to the unveiling of the Beastie Boy's video competition winner. Guests included Maggie Gylenhaal, Michael Rappaport, Gina Gershon, Emile Hirsch, Danny Masterson, Peter Saarsgard, Ellen Page,  and Dennis Quaid, among many others. The event was also the culmination of the MySpace.com/Gen Art "No Sleep Till Sundance" contest, in which aspiring filmmakers were given the opportunity to shoot and re-create music videos of a legendary Beastie Boys song. The winners of the contest, The Brothers Rye were flown to Sundance where they had a private meet and greet with the Beastie Boys before the performance.

Other fun Gen Art experiences have included the week-long Delta Sky Lodge and 10 day Starbucks Salon. At the Delta Sky Lodge, Gen Art helped program the nightly premiere parties for the Main Street venue whose guests included Sienna Miller, P. Diddy, Matthew Perry, Laura Graham, Steve Busemi, Mena Suvari and John Cusack and also hosted the Delta Sky Shorts Celebration in both 2007 and 2008 where the winning short filmmaker from the program was announced. The winner was one of five finalists whose films were featured on Delta's inflight entertainment systems and their website for a six week period and over 100,000 passengers and visitors viewed and voted for their favorite.  The finalists were all flown to the Sundance celebration and the winner received a $10,000 grant.
