* On April 22, Gen Art and Sunglass Hut hosted a special photography exhibition by Jeremy Kost at their Century City store hosted by "Ugly Betty's" Becki Newton (in photo on right). On April 24, Gen Art and Acura hosted special advance screenings of "Deception" in New York, San Francisco, Chicago Miami and in Los Angeles where director Marcel Langengger joined the festivities. For all of the after-parties tasty cocktails were provided by 360 Vodka. Also in April, Chicago hosted a Gamma Player Spring Preview and Gen Art Miami supported the fun and festive Bacardi B-Live event.


* Gen Art hosted its fab runway show of NY and Miami designers at its Fresh Faces in Fashion Miami show under the stars on the beach at the brand new Gansevoort Hotel South on April 12. The Gen Art Film Festival came to a grand conclusion with the U.S. Premiere of "The Take" with the film’s director, Brad Furman, and castmembers John Leguizamo, Rosie Perez and Yul Vasquez on the red carpet. Other big premieres included "Frost" with director Steve Clark, Lydia Hearst and much of the cast on hand for the event including the lovely after-party at the Bowery Hotel and "Surf Wise" which won the festival’s Audience Award. Collector Circle events also took place in SF, LA and NY


* Gen Art’s 2008 Film Festival presented by Acura opened with a bang on April 2nd with the NY Premiere of “Diminished Capacity” to a capacity crowd of 1,100 at the magnificent Ziegfeld Theater. On the red carpet in support of their film was director Terry Kinney and cast members Matthew Broderick, Alan Alda, Louis CK and Bobby Cannavale, with special guests including Nick Cannon and Julianna Margulies. The previous week, the festival got going with a special Launch Party at Diesel in Soho with many of the directors and cast in attendance. * Gen Art hosted the 5th Anniversary New Garde show in L.A. on March 8th featuring three top new designers at the majestic Park Plaza. Thefor the city's most fabulous to kick off to LA Fashion Week. Guests included Clint Catalyst, Reid Scott (TBS's 'My Boys'), Sarah Jane Morris (ABC's 'Brothers & Sisters), Stephanie Pratt (MTV's 'The Hills'), and designers Eduardo Lucero, Louis Verdad & Tarina Tarantino. And in Miami, Gen Art & Sunglass Hut hosted the launch party for Miami Fresh Faces in Fashion. To see photos from Special Advance Screenings & Parties from "Snow Angels" in New York with the director and actor Olivia Thirby and was also screened in Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco.


* Gen Art presented its first-ever solo fashion show for Danish designer Camilla Staerk on the final day of New York Fashion Week. Taking place at the Scandinavia House, it drew over 600 attendees who were able to view 1 of 4 intimate runway presentations. On the other Coast, Gen Art premiere members had the privilege of attending the Closing Night Party for © MURAKAMI at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA featuring more than 90 works by Takashi Murakami. And in Miami, Gen Art hosted the stunning finale of the Ruinart JE SUIS series at the brand new Galerie Bertin-Toublanc.


* The last week of January, Gen Art & Acura hosted special advance screenings for Michel Gondry’s “Be Kind Rewind” in NYC which was attended by cast member Marcus Carl Frankin, as well as Ms. Universe & Ms. Teen USA. The film was also screened in L.A., Chicago, S.F. and Miami. On Tuesday, January 22nd, Gen Art transformed the St. Ives Sensory Spa & Gallery into a lounge for the World Premiere of “Sleepwalking”. Attending were cast members Charlize Theron, Nick Stahl, AnnaSophia Robb, Woody Harrelson & Dennis Hopper as well as Stuart Townsend, Dennis Quaid, Michael Rapaport, and Amy Redford. And in Miami, we celebrated the "Je Suit Brillant” event at CIFO.


* At the Sundance Film Festival, Gen Art co-hosted the "7 Fresh Faces in Film" event with 7 For All Mankind at the SKY360 venue. Hosted by "Juno" director Jason Reitman, the event honored seven rising acting stars who have films premiering at the fest. The “7”: Jason Ritter, Paz de le Huerta, Rachel Taylor, Melonie Diaz, Kate Mara, Shoshanna Stern & Olivia Thirby (all seen in photo on right) were joined by many others including Rex Lee (Lloyd from "Entourage"), Dylan Walsh ("Nip/Tuck") and David Denman (Roy from "The Office"). Gen Art also oversaw several premiere parties at SKY360 including "Pretty Bird" with stars Billy Crudup, Paul Giamatti, Paul Schneider & SNL's Kristin Wiig & guests Matthew Perry, SNL's Rachel Dratch & Lauren Graham.

At the same time, Gen Art was also producing the St. Ives Sensory Spa & Gallery just down the street in Park City where celebrity attendees over the first weekend included Marcia Gay Harden, Paris Hilton, Taryn Manning, Rachel Hunter, Kim Kardashian, Nick Stahl, Lea Thompson & Freddie Rodriguez. Besides spa treatments and a place to chill, the venue also featured an exhibition of emerging female visual artists curated by Gen Art.
